FACILITY USE POLICY
Park users are subject to all federal, state and local laws, rules, policies, and regulations.

Vehicles, as allowed by North Carolina law, are restricted to areas designed for regular vehicular travel. Please park in designated park parking lots only.

All animals must be on a leash/ restraining system no longer than six (6) feet in length.

Removing, destroying, defacing, enhancing, adding to, tampering with, permanently or semi-permanently marking, or altering any plant or natural article, landscaping, device, structure, or appliance in any way within any Chatham County park facility is prohibited except as specifically authorized by the Parks & Recreation Department or superseding authority.

No décor can be tacked/stapled or temporarily/permanently fixed to any facility, facility wall, or structure at the Chatham County Parks unless previously authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Use of any park amenity or facility for activities outside the scope of its normal role except as specifically authorized by the Parks & Recreation Department or superseding authority is prohibited.

Use of amusements, such as air supported structures, pony rides, carnival rides, water slides, etc. are prohibited except as specifically authorized by the Parks & Recreation Department or superseding authority. The use of drones or model airplanes, or other motorized recreational aircraft is strictly prohibited.

No tents/shade structures/cabanas or “pop-up” structures are permitted at any of the Chatham County Parks unless previously authorized by the Parks and Recreation Department.

Fires are only permitted in grills for the use of cooking.

Fishing in Parks is subject to all regulations as may be prescribed by the Department and conforming to the laws of North Carolina. Hunting is prohibited in all parks.

The Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to assign priority for usage of specific park facilities or amenities on a reservation / permit basis. In the absence of such reservation / permit, park facilities are offered for use on a first come, first serve basis.

No littering. All trash must be placed in designated receptacles / locations or removed from the facility. Consumption of alcohol is prohibited in all park facilities.

Chatham County government grounds are tobacco-free, including e- cigarettes and chewing tobacco.

No soliciting unless authority is given by the Parks and Recreation Department or superseding authority.

Language, behaviors, actions or excessive noise generation that is deemed to be inappropriate or otherwise detrimental to the operation of the facility, the well-being of other patrons, or is contrary to any federal, state and/or local laws, ordinances rules, policies and regulations are prohibited.

Music at your rental is permitted but noise level is subject to the County noise ordinance for the different Park Locations. It is the responsibility of the renter to know and abide by these rules.

The Parks & Recreation Department reserves the right, as allowed by law, to close or disallow use of any park facility.

All park facilities cannot be reserved less than 5 days nor more than 364 days in advance. The pool cannot be reserved less than 10 days nor more than 364 days in advance.

All registrations/reservations must be paid in full at the time of the registration/reservation.

Any reservation cancelations made 30 days to 364 days prior to the event will get a 100% refund of the Rental Fee and a 100% Damage/Cleaning Deposit refund.

Any reservation cancelations made 29 days to 11 days prior to the event will get a 50% refund of the Rental Fee and a 100% Damage/Cleaning Deposit refund.

Any reservation cancelations made less than 10 days prior to the event will receive no Rental Fee refund and a 100% Damage/Cleaning Deposit refund.

No refunds will be issued for Shelter or Field reservations, unless facilities are closed by the Parks and Recreation Staff.

Facilities closed due to inclement weather, by the Parks and Recreation Department Staff, are subject to a FULL refund.
